Darilyn has a Bachelor of Natural Sciences from Sacred Heart University and a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the University of Puerto Rico. Before joining Penn State in 2021, Darilyn worked as a study coordinator with HIV individuals to encourage their participation in clinical trials to decrease HPV-related cancers in this population. She also worked on a colorectal cancer study to increase screening rates in patients of Federal Qualified Health Centers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was a contact tracer in Puerto Rico before starting work at Penn State with the Racial and Ethnics Approaches to Community Health (REACH) program, promoting COVID-19 vaccination among Hispanics in Central Pennsylvania.
