Emily Delikat brings an eclectic background to her work as the Director of Tennessee Families for Vaccines. She has more than 20 years of experience in early childhood education, life-long faith formation, and music. Emily is the author of Piggyback Psalms and Holy Moments: Activities for Teaching Children about Worship, and a writer and editor of Cokesbury Kids’ Deep Blue curriculum. She holds a M.A. in Christian Ministries from Asbury Theological Seminary and a B. A. in Music from Birmingham-Southern College. In 2020, Emily began a new career in public health at the Tennessee Department of Health’s Vaccine Preventable Diseases and Immunization Program. She now works as a surveillance officer in Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Emerging Infections Program with the HPV IMPACT project. In December 2023, Emily graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology and received the Certified in Public Health distinction from the National Board of Public Health Examiners. She is passionate about connecting the worlds of epidemiology and communication in a way that leads to healthier people and communities, and brings that passion to her pro-vaccine advocacy work.
